Beginning in 1995 the Achiever Awards are part of the Country Music Association of Australia’s (CMAA) long history of recognising its supporters who have made major contributions to the development and promotion of Australian country music over the preceding 12 month period.
Nominations are sought from Professional Members for industry categories, from which finalists are determined. With a top lineup of artists, producers and record companies vying for these industry awards it confirms the continued growth in the interest and accessibility of country music in Australia.
“The Australian Country Music Industry Achiever Awards are the industry’s way of recognising those performers on stage as well as those tireless workers behind the scenes who excel in their chosen field and as ambassadors for country music” advises John Williamson, President of the CMAA.
The CMAA Achiever Awards are special because they acknowledge such a broad cross-section of people in our industry. Many of these hard working people would otherwise go unrecognised for their work behind the scenes.

The CMAA Australian Country Music Achiever Awards are presented to recognise those people, companies and organisations making significant contributions to the development and promotion of Australian country music.
The Awards are designed to recognise current contributions rather than contributions made over a long period of time.
