Lyn Bowtell appointed to Academy Director’s Role

The Academy of Country Music is delighted to announce the appointment of Lyn Bowtell to the role of Artistic Director of the Academy. Lyn has had a very long career with the Academy. She was a student at the very first College of Country Music back in 1997. She won the Toyota Starmaker competition that year and hasn’t looked back since. She teamed up with fellow student Karen O’Shea and long time friend Kate Ballantyne to form the vocal group Bella who went on to win many Golden Guitar Awards and have great success. Lyn has worked at the Academy as a Junior and a senior group leader as well as singing coach and mentor. “I could not be more pleased with this appointment” says General Manager Roger Corbett. “Lyn was simply a natural and evolutionary choice for the Academy role.”

Lyn herself says “ I’m thrilled at the opportunity take on the role of Artistic Director at the 2016 CMAA Academy of Country Music.  It’s going to be exciting and challenging. ”
