Country Music Census 2025
In 2019, the CMAA conducted landmark sector research which resulted in a comprehensive report, ‘The Economic and Cultural Value of Country Music in Australia 2018'.
That report was the first in 20 years focused specifically on country music.
We are delighted to report that the CMAA has been awarded significant funding to document the current state-of-play in our industry.
The Country Music Census 2025, will be conducted with the assistance of a research team of students enrolled in JMC Academy’s Entertainment Business Management degree course in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The project will focus on country music’s recovery from the pandemic years and provide up-to-date data and analysis to drive targeted investment, policy and decision making at all levels of business and government.
BUT, we can’t do it without your help!
A vital part of the previous research was responses to online surveys which detailed the activities of artists and the event attendances and music consumption of the fans who support them.
There are two surveys –
Please complete whichever applies – or both if that’s appropriate.
The ARTIST SURVEY – performers/musicians/songwriters
The FAN SURVEY
The surveys can be completed anonymously OR, if you provide an email contact you’ll enter the prize draw to win a $750 Coles gift card (one fan, one artist) OR two VIP double passes to the 2026 Golden Guitars (one double pass artist, one double pass fan). If you win the tickets and cannot use them, they’re transferable.
All information provided will be aggregated in the report. NO individual will be identified.
IF you provide contact details to enter the prize draw, you have my personal GUARANTEE that I will not share your email with ANY third party.
This is a very timely and vital project for our sector and we appreciate your willingness to participate.
