CMAA Country Music Census 2025
The ‘Valuing Australian Country Music 2025’, updates the findings we reported in 2019 and thus provides important insights into the extent to which our sector has recovered from the travel restrictions, capacity restrictions and event cancellations in the ‘COVID years’.
We adopted the same methodology as we did for our 2019 study ‘The Economic and Cultural Value of Australian Country Music 2018’, that is a detailed ‘census-like’ analysis of every sector of our industry, incorporating survey responses from event and gig attendees and performers.
This enabled us to make direct comparisons and thus accurately gauge the extend to which the sector has recovered to pre-pandemic levels of activity.

We could not have carried out the project without significant funding from the NSW State Government through Sounds NSW and the Federal Government through Creative Australia, its Arts investment and advisory agency. They joined long-time project partner the Tamworth Regional Council.
Special thanks to all those individuals and organisations who shared their information and insights.
