THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCE REBOOT OF CMAA ACHIEVER AWARDS

The Country Music Association of Australia is proud and excited to announce the rebooting of the CMAA Achiever Awards. These awards are non-competitive acknowledgements of individuals or groups, both contemporary and legacy, who have made a significant contribution to the Australian country music scene.

 

The awards are split into 2 categories

 Legacy Artists – awarded to figures from our past who contributed tirelessly to our industry for more than 30 years.

Contemporary Artists – awarded to personalities excelling at a high level or providing a significant commitment to our industry in the last 12 months.

The recognition categories are -

  • Historic Achiever
  • Legacy Artist
  • Legacy Songwriter
  • Legacy Musician
  • Legacy Industry
  • Contemporary Achiever
  • Contemporary Media Achiever
  • Young Achiever (under the age of 21)
  • Musician of the Year
  • Creative Industries Achiever of the Year

The awards will be chosen by the current CMAA Board, with an aim to create an inclusive and overall recognition of the contributions of key historic and contemporary figures within our community.

These acknowledgements will be announced on 16 November, and presented at our inaugural ‘Presentation Night’ to be held on Saturday 23 November at JMC Academy in Sydney. The event will feature the award presentations, with acoustic performances spread throughout the evening.

In addition to the awards night, the CMAA is especially proud to announce as a precursor to the awards, an Industry Symposium, comprising of a series of professional panels, to be held in a separate session in the afternoon of the presentations at the same venue.

Tickets for the events are on sale now, with pricing as follows:

  • Full event including both the Industry Symposium followed by the CMAA Achiever Awards presentation will be $80 for CMAA Members/$140 for the general public.
  • Tickets for each individual event (ie the Industry Symposium and the CMAA Achiever Awards presentation will be $50 each for CMAA Members/$80 each for general public.

Please note that CMAA tickets are offered to current members only. Both events will be catered, including finger food and limited drinks on arrival (additional drinks available for purchase).
